Final Reflection

Thinking back on this semester I feel that I have learned a lot of valuable tools to use in my classroom. I learned how to make a movie, blog, wiki page and how to use google docs. The one thing that i will use in my classroom regarding technology is podcasts. I feel they can really push my students to be creative and express what they are thinking in a different way.  I do not see myself using blogs for the fact I feel there is to much risk with having the students create one.  My thoughts have changed a lot in regards to using technology in my classroom because looking back none of my teachers used it. Technology will really spice up the classroom because the students will be doing things they might not do in another class. The advice I have for myself for future situations when technology is involved is to be calm and give it a try. I never created a movie or podcast before and I now feel that I can really use these technologies in my classroom.

Google Earth

I feel Google Earth would be a very useful tool in one of my classrooms. It was be very helpful teaching a geography lesson. Google Earth would allow the student to use this tool to look at different places all over the world and a map is not as interactive. I could really see myself using this tool in the future.

Podcast for a History Class

Twitter in the Classroom.

I feel that the use of Twitter in the classroom might bring about many probelms in a classroom becasue of the fact many people use it as a social tool. Students will be able to read about all of these celebrity tweets. I feel that this will just lead to a waste of time becasue all they would be doing is tweeting to there friends. I know that there can be benefits of using Twitter in the classroom but there is just to much junk for the studenst to get into.

Thoughts on Google Docs.

I found that Google Docs was a very useful tool to use for many reasons. First of all it allows you to use programs for free that would usually cost you a arm and a leg through Microsoft. Another thing I liked about Google Docs is that it automatically safes your work. Finally since all of your work is online you cant loose all your work if your computer crashes.

My Feelings Towards Wikis

As for Wikispaces uses in the classroom, I feel they can really make a classroom more intresting. They allow students to collabrate with each. This can make groups projects a more fun and exciting aspect of school for the students.

My Feelings Towards Blogs

I feel that Blogs can be a very useful tool in a classroom setting. They put a new twist on learning material in a classroom. It is also a good way that teachers and parents can stay connected about what is going on in the classroom. I am looking forward to using this tool in more depth and become more comfortable with it.

Websites that I like

I choose these two website because they are very helpful to students and teachers. The ASL website is useful tool I help with my Sign Language class. It gives you good practice at signing. As for highschoolace.com, I chose this website because I enjoy all the helpful tools it has for history and government. It aslo as some very useful maps.
